Chili Cookoff and Steak Dinner to benefit Brazos County first responders

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The Brazos County First Responders Association is hosting a Chili Cookoff and Steak Dinner on Saturday, January 27.

The event will be held at the Kurten Community Center from 1 p.m. until 11 p.m. and will consist of a chili cookoff, auction, 50/50 raffle, live entertainment, and more. Money raised from the event will go to help Brazos County first responders who have been injured in the line of duty.

“When somebody is injured in the line of duty, as far as a first responder goes, there’s a lot of unexpected circumstances that arise too, financially, ” Trey Oldham with the Brazos Count First Responders Association said. “Sometimes first responders become ill or injured and we can step in and provide some assistance.”

A cornhole tournament and children’s activities are also planned.

General admission tickets to the Chili Cookoff can be purchased online for $10. Steak dinner tickets are $60.

Chili cookoff teams can still enter by signing up here.
