BVSO to bring America’s biggest horse race to College Station

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra is bringing the Kentucky Derby to Aggieland.

The BVSO’s annual Derby Day Gala is Saturday, May 4 at the Texas A&M Hotel & Conference Center.

The starting gates open at 4:30 p.m. for pre-race activities leading up to the “greatest two minutes in sports,” including live and silent auctions, and a Derby Hat Parade with awards.

There will also be a Luxury Gulf Coast Buffet, a performance by the BVSO String Quartet and live music by Karan Chavis.

Music Director Marcelo Bussiki will be honored with the first Distinguished Leadership Award.

Th gala is the BVSO’s largest fundraising event of the year. All proceeds go towards helping the BVSO continue its mission to maintain a symphony of high artistic standards, and to promote the musical arts for cultural and education purposes in the Brazos Valley.
