Bryan Police investigating a burglary at Tooters Vape Shop
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The Bryan Police Department is investigating a burglary at Tooters Vape Shop on Texas Avenue that happened Sunday morning.
Two shirtless bandits were caught on the shop’s security camera shoving vapes into a backpack. They were not wearing any gloves and wearing their shirts as masks. The two men arrived at the store at 1:45 a.m. and exited at 1:54 a.m. While they spent nine minutes total at the vape shop, from when they parked to when they left, they were only in the store for about a minute.
According to one of the store’s owners, 50 disposable vapes were stolen.
The men entered the store by shattering a window that faced Eagle Pass Street.
According to one of the owners, the item used to break in was a brick and both suspects left plenty of fingerprints.
“Officers responded to a burglary alarm at Tooters Vape Shop and officers were able to locate forced entry into the establishment,” Officer Seth Waller, Bryan Police Department.
Surveillance video from Shammy Car Wash from across the street caught the bandits’ vehicle as it pulled around the shop to park. It’s hard to tell what exactly the make and model of it is from the video, but it is a dark-colored vehicle.
The thieves could be seen walking around outside of the store until one of the men could be seen throwing something at the window before they both made entry.
“When there is a business burglary like this, if there is security footage that helps us in our investigation a lot as well as a timely response by a business owner. If these kinds of things occur report that to police so we can follow up and do an investigation on it,” Waller said.
One of Tooter’s owners said they’re hoping for their customer’s support as police work to catch the thieves.
