Bryan man arrested on charges of possessing child pornography
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – A Bryan man has been arrested on charges of possessing child pornography after law enforcement officers said they found he had hundreds of disturbing images involving children.
Joel Garcia Jr., 47, was arrested by Bryan Police on Wednesday after warrants were issued by the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office.
Constable Ryan Gable says Garcia was associated with the distribution of more than 22,000 images of child pornography into The Woodlands area.
On Wednesday, January 3rd, Constable Gabel’s office executed a search warrant at Garcia’s home in Bryan and secured several electronic devices that reportedly contained material sexually depicting infants and toddlers.
On Wednesday, January 10th, five charges of Promotion of Child Pornography were filed out of Montgomery County and Bryan PD assisted detectives in locating and arresting Garcia.
Garcia is currently being held on bonds totaling $150,000 in Brazos County and is awaiting transfer to Montgomery County.
