Bryan ISD showcase at First Friday this week

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – It’s that time again.

Bryan ISD is hosting their showcase event during First Friday this week.

Brian Merrell, and Ka’Melo Brooks from Bryan ISD, joined First News at Four on Wednesday to discuss the big event.

Merrell said the showcase is more like a block party.

“We have a jam-packed schedule, we’ve got every one of our schools out there. Many of our groups, fine arts, CTE, athletics, it’s truly going to be a wonderful event for the entire community,” he said.

Brooks is a Junior at Bryan High, who is heavily involved in multiple organizations the showcase hopes to highlight.

“I’m a student ambassador, junior leadership board staff and I also play sports,” Brooks said.

Merrell said students like Brooks are who the showcase is really for.

“He’s involved in so many things, and a strong student as well. We’re proud of the work that not only he does, but all of our students,” he said.

The showcase will be in Downtown Bryan on Friday, beginning at 6 p.m.
