Brazos County Commissioners award contract to demolish former Bryan ISD administration building

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Time is getting closer for the demolition of the former Bryan ISD administration building on Texas Avenue.

At recent Commissioners Court meetings, officials awarded the contract to Albo Construction, LLC for demolition.

The total contract breaks down to $264,000 to demolish and clear the site. It also includes another $40,000 to remove two portable buildings at the juvenile justice center, and $7,000 to remove from the county jail.

The building was purchased by Brazos County in 2021, and once served as a bank before it was headquarters for Bryan ISD.

After 2 years and a feasibility study, it was found that remodeling the building was not a viable option for remodeling.

No word yet on when the demolition will begin.
