Blast to the past: La Bodega is coming back!
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Let’s call it ‘La Bodega 2.0′.
Fans of the former Northgate favorite will be thrilled to hear that the owners of La Bodega Baja Taco Bar have plans to reopen later this year in the old Mad Taco location on Greens Prairie Road in south College Station.
“Version 2.0 will feature what it’s famous for along with signature ceviche, calamari, crab cakes, and more,” said Costa Dallis.
The original location opened in Northgate in October 2000 and was there until the sale of the property in 2014.
“La Bodega introduced Baja-style fish and shrimp tacos to the Brazos Valley and was famous for those tacos, it’s Mexican Martinis Shakers, and served the Strawberry Tarts from Cafe Eccell,” said Dallis.
Costa and his brother Andreas operated a drive-thru version of La Bodega in November 2017, giving fans a nostalgic taste of what they’ve been missing.
The brothers are also responsible for other past and present favorites including Cafe Eccell, Public & Main, The Backyard on Northgate, El Jefe, So-Fly Hot Chicken, and Burger Mojo.
