Battle of the Badges happening Tuesday after weather delays event

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Battle of the Badges is happening Tuesday after it was rescheduled earlier this month.

The event taking place at Legends Event Center will be a charitable game of dodgeball. This friendly competition will be between teams from Bryan Fire, Bryan Police, College Station Fire, and College Station Police.

Those getting ready for the game say they’re excited to face other first responders and see community members in a different setting.

“Not only do we help the citizens while we’re at work, but we like to be a part of the community to where if we do have to come to your house on an emergency call you can look and say ‘oh, hey, we saw that guy playing dodgeball or softball,’ just being a part of the community in itself is a big mission for us,” Dustin Nash with the Bryan Firefighters Association said.

The event kicks off Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at the Legends Event Center in Bryan. Tickets are $5 and proceeds will be donated to The Cure Starts Now, a pediatric brain tumor research charity.
