Baker shares ideas for National Pi Day
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – A delicious holiday is ahead. Thursday is National Pi Day, which commemorates the mathematical constant π.
It’s known as pi, and it’s well-known first three digits, 3.14, represent the date.
Along with math lovers, the day can be celebrated by those who enjoy pie. That’s why LaToya Beal, the owner of the Wild Flour Bakeshop in Brenham, joined BVTM Wednesday to share some ideas.
She showed how to make Kentucky pecan pie and key lime pie.

Kentucky Pecan Pie
Ingredients:
1 stick of butter (melted)2 eggs`1 tbsp. vanilla1 cup pecans1 cup chocolate chips1 cup flour1 cup sugar
Directions:
Mix with a spatula or whisk. Pour into a pie crust. Bake for one hour at 375 degrees.
Key Lime Pie
Ingredients:
4 egg yolks2 cans condensed milk2/3 cups lime juice
Directions:
Mix with spatula or whisk. Pour in pie crust. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Put in a cooler or freezer for 30 minutes to one hour.
Can be garnished with whipped cream, limes, or lime zest.
