Alzheimer’s Association hosts seminar discussing warning signs of dementia

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The Alzheimer’s Association hosted a free presentation Friday for people who either live with seniors or who may soon take care of an aging person.

The mission of the talk was to discuss common warning signs of Alzheimer’s or dementia and learn what symptoms to look for.

“We are just making the overall public just aware of these signs, ” said Amber Neel, Care coordinator for the Area Agency on Aging of the Brazos Valley.

During the seminar videos from experts and doctors were played that went into detail about the science behind the signs.

“Alzheimer’s is not a normal part of aging and it doesn’t have to be a scary conversation,” added Neel.

Organizers for the event say through the spring, the group will host several events to promote more awareness.
