Aggies moving on in Memphis following dominating 98-83 win over Nebraska

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE (KBTX) — The Texas A&M men’s basketball team built a 14 point first half lead and never looked back as they posted a 98-83 win over Nebraska in the first round of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament at FedExForum Friday night.

Manny Obaseki scored 16 consecutive points in the first half as they Aggies led it at the break 58-44.

Obaseki finished with 22 points. Wade Taylor IV led the team with 25 points and Tyrece Radford added 20 as the Aggies scored a season high 98 points and advances to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for first time since 2018 and gives head coach Buzz Williams his first NCAA Tournament win at Texas A&M.

The Aggies shot a sizzling 49.3 % from the field including hitting 13 3-pointers on 24 attempts.

Texas A&M won the battle of the boards 40-28.

The Aggies will face either top seed Houston or 16 seed Longwood in Sunday’s South Region second round game.
