Aggieland Safari showcasing new exhibits for spring break

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Aggieland Safari welcomed new additions to the interactive safari experience.

New animals were added to the interactive safari’s walk-through and drive-thru exhibits on March 8.

New animals featured at the safari include the African crested porcupine, two fennec foxes, baby nilgai antelope, and a newborn baby zebra.

“I feel like they’re just really interesting exhibits to see out now,” said Lily Olson, Education Department at Aggieland Safari. “I’m just excited for people to be able to see them and learn a bit more information about them.”

The interactive safari offers drive-thru, walk-through, and feeding options for people to interact with, appreciate, and learn about the exotic animals.

“We’re hoping to eventually be able to move [the nilgai] within our drive-thru so that they’ll be more of an up-close animal that the people can feed,” said Olson. “Our fennecs have just been out hiding for a little bit, as well as our African crested.”

During the week of Spring Break, people can visit the animals during the safari’s spirit week with complimentary bus tours and keeper talks.
