Accused drunk driver leaves trail of damage in Bryan neighborhood
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – An accused drunk driver was put in jail early Wednesday after police say he left a trail of damage in a Bryan neighborhood.
Police say that just after 1 a.m. they were dispatched to the 3000 block of Positano Loop for a crash involving multiple vehicles.
According to an arrest report, Cameron Lee Kisthardt, 24, of Bryan, was driving a blue Dodge van on Positano Loop when he slammed into an SUV. Kisthardt continued driving and struck a second parked vehicle on the same street. The arrest report says Kisthardt was the only person in the van.
Police say when speaking with him, Kisthardt began to apologize for what happened and initially said he was driving for Uber Eats but then went to a friend’s party because he didn’t have any deliveries to make.
Police said they could detect the odor of alcohol coming from his breath and noticed his eyes were glassy and bloodshot. He was also having a hard time keeping his balance.
The report says a handgun was also found in the van.
At the time of this report, Kisthardt remained in the Brazos County Detention Center on charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. His bonds total $6,000.
