Bryan couple ties the knot for free with 6th annual American Heroes Dream Wedding Giveaway

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – One lucky Brazos County couple won the annual American Heroes Dream Wedding Giveaway by the Inn at Quarry Ridge in Bryan, and celebrated alongside their friends and family last weekend.

Rick and Beatriz were announced as the 2024 American Heroes Dream Wedding Giveaway winners this March, and tied the knot last weekend, August 17.

A Brazos County teacher and paramedic were honored for their services to the community with a dream wedding package, presented by American Heroes Dream Wedding Giveaway.

The annual contest awards an all inclusive wedding package to one couple who serve the community as a military member, first responder, or teacher. That includes pre and post wedding necessities like a catered rehearsal dinner, engagement photos, invitations, and even a honeymoon trip.

“We just want to be able to give back to the community,” Benjamin Thompson with the Inn at Quarry Ridge told KBTX. “Especially those who are always giving, themselves. Like first responders, paramedics, teachers, and things like that. People that may not get things often, and this is just a way to give back and show our love and appreciation for those folks.”

Bryan paramedic, Rick, told the Inn at Quarry Ridge he proposed to Beatriz after two years during a couples photoshoot at a sunflower field because that’s her favorite flower.

Rick, a paramedic with Bryan College Station EMS, popped the question to Beatriz, a Bryan ISD kindergarten teacher, during a couples photoshoot two years after meeting. They were the sixth couple honored with a free wedding.
