Aggies return to class with high hopes for football season: ‘It’s all brand new’
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Texas A&M’s campus was packed with students finding their classes and figuring out their bus routes on Monday. However, the talk of the campus was that they were looking forward to the first football game of the season.
Wilkes Hawkins, a freshman at Texas A&M, told KBTX he was excited for this next chapter in his life.
“I’m excited for the football games, one, and just all the opportunities that are going to come my way. I’m excited for my classes to start back up,” Hawkins said.
Hawkins says he is ready for what college has in store for him.
“[I am excited to] Just meet new people, saying yes to anything that comes my way. It’s all brand new, but it’s really exciting just to see everyone around get that new experience,” added Hawkins.
The Aggies kick off against Notre Dame on Saturday, August 31. While the ticket pull is a week away, pitched tents are already visible in front of the ticket office.
