Weekend Gardener: Rose pruning for the fall

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – A little maintenance now can make a big difference with your rose bushes this fall.

“Summer has taken a toll on some of our roses,” said Jayla Fry with Texas A&M AgriLife.

She says light pruning can lead to a beautiful flush of roses in early fall.

“Make sure you prune back lightly,” said Fry. “Deadhead your roses that are spent, and fertilize and water as usual and you’ll be ready for that beautiful flush.”
