Waller County arrests hit-and-run suspect
WALLER COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) – A hit-and-run investigation by the Waller County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) led to the arrest of a Grimes County man on Thursday.
In a release from WCSO, the sheriff’s office said Juan Carlos Moreno Salazar, 43, of Grimes County was arrested in connection to a hit-and-run on August 1 along Highway 6 North.
Moreno Salazar was allegedly traveling south on the highway near FM 1736 when “he forced a tractor-trailer off the roadway.” After both vehicles came to a stop, Moreno Salazar walked away without checking on the other driver.

WCSO said the other driver was not injured in the hit-and-run.
Moreno Salazar was later identified and arrested. During his arrest, the sheriff’s office said he was found with meth and “fraudulent government documents” on his person.
He is being held on a total of four charges including Accident Involving Damage to Vehicle and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
