Bryan teen arrested for multiple shootings
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – College Station Police have made an arrest connected to a pair of shootings from March 2024.
17-year-old Jaylen Workman was arrested four months after the shootings took place. He is facing two charges of Deadly Conduct and one charge of Tampering with Evidence.
According to documents, at around 1 a.m. on March 11, College Station police responded to a shooting at The Halston in the 800 block of Spring Loop. Police located multiple shell casings and bullet holes in the side of the building. Nine people were inside the residence, but no injuries were reported.
About an hour-and-a-half later Bryan police responded to a shooting at the 1100 block of Jordan Loop. Officers recovered more shell casings, which were later compared and found to be fired from the same gun.
The same vehicle was reported leaving both scenes after the shootings. Police located the car, with Workman inside. He reportedly ran off and was arrested at his girlfriend’s home. Police searched the vehicle and found a gun inside.
Documents include while Workman was in jail he called his girlfriend several times and instructed her to delete text messages and social media posts from his phone.
Workman is in the Brazos County Jail on bonds totaling $70,000.
