Bryan nonprofit hosts first feminine hygiene product giveaway
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Back-to-school supplies don’t just include pencils and paper anymore. Packin’ Purses with Purpose, a Bryan nonprofit, is hosting a back-to-school drive this Saturday, August 17.
Girls who show up will receive a purse filled with period products.
They will be giving away free feminine hygiene supplies and other items like tampons, wipes, underwear, pads, and laundry detergent, along with other hygiene products.

Virginia Redwine Johnson and Kristy Griswold, co-founders of Packin’ Purses with Purpose, told KBTX they are excited to help girls start the year off with all the necessary supplies.
“So many girls are not cleaning or using toilet tissue, or don’t have the products. Believe it or not, these products are actually a little more pricey than you’d think,” Johnson said.

Packin’ Purses with Purpose plans to hold this event once a month to promote menstrual hygiene and make sure girls have what they need for the school year.
