ROUNDUP: What new businesses are coming to Bryan-College Station?
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – As students return to Aggieland and football Saturdays follow closely, there’s big business to be done in the Brazos Valley.
In a survey released Tuesday by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), small business owners say they’re feeling better about the economy than they have in months. However, they still feel the pressure of inflation on their bottom line.
A handful of new businesses are moving into the Bryan–College Station area, and they’re ready for the college rush. One of the new establishments getting ready to open its doors to the public is Pluckers Wing Bar.
Pluckers opens in College Station August 19.
Sean Greenberg co-owns Pluckers and told KBTX he is excited to put the company’s first pickleball court on its College Station patio.
“There are a lot of really positive economic indicators in that region,” Greenberg said about College Station.
With the Brazos Valley population growing, Greenberg said he believes there will be heavy foot traffic.
“Pluckers in college towns go hand in hand together, and College Station is an enormous and vibrant college town,” explained Greenberg.
Pluckers will be joined by new businesses like Tiger Woods-backed minigolf concept Pop Stroke, Buffalo Wing institution Anchor Bar, and a new Northgate pizza place in the old Antonio’s called Famiglia Pizzeria.
Down Wellborn Road, business owner Alyssa Hensley left corporate America to open Half Baked Goodness, a cookie stop.
“With the amount of students here and the activity, and how big College Station is and growing,” Hensley listed, “I thought it would be a perfect addition.”
