Free Music Friday: Oliver Penn talks ‘East Coast Girls’ tour
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – With music that celebrates the blues, country, and retro-soul music, Oliver Penn is creating a sound that feels familiar with a style all his own.
Penn has been performing a lot since the last time he was on Free Music Friday, and will be setting out on an East Coast tour soon.
“I have been performing just all over Texas, at a lot of private events and shows like that or that’s ahead on our big tour at the end of this year,” Penn said.
His home might be here in the South, but he has a connection to the East Coast, having been raised in Rhode Island.
“My brother and I are the only two that aren’t Texan in my whole family. So, I always like to say I was raised like a Texan in Rhode Island, and I like to get up there and play usually about once, maybe twice a year, up on the East Coast just for my hometown friends,” shared Penn.
Penn’s East Coast Girls tour begins September 25 in New York City and wraps up in Orlando, Florida on October 11.
