Central Church hosts 2nd annual garage sale to help missionaries
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Central Church in College Station began its second annual 2-day garage sale on Friday with hopes to nearly double last year’s funds.
Featured at this weekend garage sale includes a variety of furniture, tools, toys, clothes, and even antiques.
As a major fundraiser for the church, organizers told KBTX they hope to rake in $50,000 this year. Last year, the garage sale raised $30,000.
Funds raised has been promised to go to the church’s missionaries who serve all over the world.
“We go all over the world to serve, so it allows some of our people to have scholarships to go to the nations and serve right here in Bryan-College Station,” said Shane Mikeska, the mission’s pastor at Central Church.
The garage sale is scheduled for Friday, August 2 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. until noon at Central Church’s Family Life Center – 1991 FM 158.
