Aggieland Humane Society holds Pups on the Patio

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Anyone who stopped by the Chick-fil-A on Briarcrest Drive on Saturday might have noticed some furry friends out and about.

It was all for Aggieland Humane Society’s Pups on the Patio event. There people could meet adoptable dogs along with their foster family. Some were even relaxing in little pools while snacking on treats.

Organizers said that several dogs were adopted during the event.

Shannon Goetz, a foster for Aggieland Humane Society, said the event really allows people to see the dogs outside of the shelter and connect with them. And right now that’s really important to do since the shelter is at capacity.

“We also have lots of foster dogs and cats in foster homes as well, so it’s very vital because it gets dogs out of the shelter and it gives the shelter some relief,” Goetz said. “But I mean honestly at this point the shelter is working super hard around the clock to keep it clean, healthy for those dogs to do play groups.”

Those interested in being a foster for Aggieland Humane Society can go to their website. They can also participate in Dog Day Out where they’ll be able to take a shelter dog out for walks and play.
