Juvenile injured in Navasota shooting, roads blocked for evidence search
NAVASOTA, Texas (KBTX) – A minor was shot in Navasota early Friday morning, Navasota police say, and the suspect is not in custody.
In a press release, the City of Navasota told KBTX officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired at around 5:30 a.m. in the 600 block of FM 1227.
Responding officers discovered a juvenile female who had been stuck by a stray bullet. The young victim was rushed to a hospital in Bryan with “minor injuries.”
Upon investigation, police said they found evidence near a housing community in the 700 block of Doris Street.
“Several vehicles and an apartment wall were damaged from gunshots,” the release read.
Police have a stretch of road blocked off for further investigation between FM 1227 and Washington Avenue. Police say 18-wheeler traffic is also blocked off between FM 1227 and FM 379.
