City conducts smoke testing for defective plumbing in southwest Bryan

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Smoke testing in southwest Bryan began this week, and is expected to continue throughout the month of August.

This smoke testing is to identify broken pipes and defects. Smoke may come from vent pipes, manholes, or the ground where broken pipes are located.

In its release, the city said there is no cause for concern to residents of Bryan. The smoke is non-toxic and leaves no residue. Smoke will only be inside a building if there is defective plumbing.

This testing will be dependent upon dry weather.
