Pair arrested after leading police on pursuit in stolen pickup truck in College Station
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Police arrested a pair Monday morning after reportedly leading officers on a high-speed pursuit in a stolen pickup.
College Station police were assisting other law enforcement agencies that were tracking Tyler Rogers, 26, and Danielle Castillo, 31, who were in the truck stolen earlier in the day in Huntsville.
An arrest report says CSPD attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle around 10 a.m. in the area of University Drive and Spring Loop, but Rogers refused to stop and attempted to outrun officers in the neighborhood while reaching speeds up to 80 miles per hour.
The two were eventually taken into custody after Rogers took a turn onto Hearthstone Circle and ended up in a dead-end cul-de-sac, police said.
Inside the pickup, officers said they located a stolen firearm.
Rogers, who resides in Andrews, Texas, is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading arrest, theft of a firearm, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. He also had five outstanding warrants for his arrest in other counties on charges including theft of property, burglary of a building, evading, and unlawful use of a mother vehicle.
He remains in the Brazos County Detention Center with bonds totaling $130,000.
Castillo, who resides in Seminole, Texas, had close to 12 grams of meth hidden in her bra, said police. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Castillo also had a pair of outstanding warrants from Gaines County on charges of theft of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
She also remains in the Brazos County jail with bonds totaling $61,000.
