Application period open now for Bryan Fire Department

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The Bryan Fire Department is now accepting applications for firefighters.

“It’s been the most rewarding career,” Bryan Fire Public Information Officer Chris Lamb said. “Just helping out your community, being invested in your community. You see people at the worst times of their life but you also see them at the best time of their life.”

Lamb said no experience is required and the City of Bryan will pay for training.

“We’re actually paying for you to go to school, we’re paying for you to go to the fire academy, we’re paying for you to go to EMT and paramedic school, and we’re also paying you while you’re in there,” Lamb said.

State of Texas certified firefighters and paramedics applicants are eligible for a $15,000 sign-on bonus, and Texas certified firefighters and EMTs are eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

The application is entirely online and can be found here. Once applicants fill out the initial fire entrance exam a packet will be sent electronically to continue the process.
