One of four men accused of indecency with a child faces new trafficking charge
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – KBTX has learned of new developments in the ongoing investigation of four men accused of playing a role in the alleged molestation of a 14-year-old from College Station.
According to jail records, Ryan Michael Hoffart was taken back into custody early Thursday after a warrant was issued for his arrest in Brazos County. Records show he’s charged with Trafficking a Child/Engaging in Sexual Conduct for an alleged incident that occurred in October of 2021. The charge is a first-degree felony and his bond has been set at $150,000.
Details of the new charge were not immediately available.
Hoffart is one of four men charged with indecency with a child by exposure after investigators said the group exposed their genitals to the 14-year-old boy when they were members of the Mountain Valley Fellowship Church in Brazos County and Texas A&M’s Chi Alpha Christian fraternity in College Station.
Hoffart, who has not been indicted previously, is also charged with Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact, a second-degree felony. He’s set to be arraigned at 2 p.m. on July 30th.
William Johnson, Otto Randolph, and Alexander Owen were indicted by a grand jury last month on the Indecency with a Child by Exposure charge, a third-degree felony.
Owen has not been arrested, according to jail records in Brazos County.
The men are also named in a civil lawsuit filed in Harris County.
