Police identify Bryan man killed in crash on FM 2818

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Bryan Police identified the man killed in a crash Wednesday afternoon on FM 2818.

Police said Bobby Ray Tates, Jr., 49, from Bryan, was killed.

Investigators said a car driven by Tates was traveling northbound in the 1800 block of North Harvey Mitchell Parkway when it veered into southbound traffic and crashed into a 2007 Mack truck.

Tates was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

The family told KBTX that Tates was a lifelong Bryan resident. A GoFundMe has been started to help the family with funeral-related costs.
