BCBS of Texas and Baylor Scott & White announce contract extension
RICHARDSON, Texas (KBTX) – BlueCross BlueShield of Texas and Baylor Scott & White Health have announced a temporary contract extension as both sides say they are working on a long-term solution.
BSW notified BCBS in May that the current contract would be terminated on July 1, unless a new deal could be reached.
In a joint statement Thursday the two companies announced a three-month extension for providers and facilities until Oct. 1, 2024.
“The three-month extension means Baylor Scott & White providers, hospitals and other facilities will remain in network for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas members, while we continue to work to finalize a longer-term agreement,” the statement reads.
