Weekend Gardener: Salvia plant options
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – If you’re looking to add pops of color to your garden, there are several salvia plant options to consider.
“Salvias are great ornamental plants,” said Stephen Brueggerhoff with Texas A&M AgriLife. “They come in a variety of colors.”
Brueggerhoff said they’re also great for attracting pollinators like butterflies, birds and bees.
“Now, a little bit about these plants themselves. There’s different types of salvias,” said Brueggerhoff. “When I hear the name salvia we think of sage, the culinary sage. But these are strictly ornamentals so we’re not gonna eat these.”
