3 arrested during search warrant execution in Montgomery County
THE WOODLANDS, Texas (KBTX) – On Thursday Montgomery County detectives arrested one person in connection with a child pornography investigation, and two others were arrested after detectives executed a search warrant at the home.
Robert Walker, Frances Walker, and Leigh Baker were arrested after Montgomery County detectives executed a search warrant on the Walkers’ residence in New Caney.
The warrant was executed through collaboration between multiple precincts of the Montgomery County Constable’s Offices, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office and the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce. Public information officer Lt. Ken Washington said collaboration between several agencies allow them to successfully investigate crimes like this.
”The predators have always been there. It’s just a matter of agencies having the resources and tools to go out and find them,” he said.
Police said Robert Walker was the subject of a “proactive investigation” relating to child pornography.
“Either soliciting or trying to distribute or share some form of child porn or whatever it may be. With our detectives in the course of that, they start to investigate to find out what the nature of that is,” Washington said.
When detectives entered the house, another crime scene was waiting for them. They located an infant and nine animals living in what they called an “uninhabitable” house.
“There was a lot of feces and urine that’s been soaked into the floor, which creates a very volatile situation in regards to being able to breathe,” Washington added.
The Woodlands Fire Department’s Hazmat team, Child Protective Services and the Montgomery County Animal Control were then called to the scene. The infant and animals were removed. Washington said it’s not yet known if the infant was victimized.
“Identifying who the children are in those images, that’s identifying possible other victims. So at this time that’s ongoing to try to find out who those victims are,” he said.
Robert Walker was ultimately charged with five counts of promotion/distribution of child pornography, endangering a child and animal cruelty.
Frances Walker and Leigh Baker were also charged with animal cruelty and endangering a child.
“We want to go out there and protect children at all costs to make sure they’re safe and secure,” Washington said.
Police records show that Frances Walker and Leigh Baker have bonded out of jail. Robert Walker remains in custody at the Montgomery County Jail on a $170,500 bond.
