Juneteenth closures Wednesday in the Brazos Valley

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Juneteenth, the day celebrating the freedom of enslaved Americans following the Civil War, is on June 19. It has long been celebrated in the African American community, and was recognized as a federal holiday in 2021.

Several local government offices will be closed Wednesday in honor of Juneteenth.

College Station:

City of College Station offices and facilities will be closedSolid waste and recycling collections will operate on a regular scheduleAdamson Lagoon will be open from 1 to 7 p.m., and Cindy Hallaran Pool will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
