Flood Watch for southwestern portions of the area through Wednesday

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Ahead of upcoming activity in the Gulf, the National Weather Service has issued flood watches across much of Southern Texas through Wednesday night.

While the Brazos Valley is not currently expecting direct impacts from this system, it is looking more likely that widespread rain and some localized flooding will come our way, especially Wednesday.

Tropical activity may lead to flooding, especially across our southwestern counties.

At the moment, we expect rainfall totals to vary wildly, from as little as a trace-0.5″ across our northeastern counties, to 5″ or more closer to I-10. Bear with us as we continue to fine tune which areas will see the most rain through early Thursday. Activity looks to be much more isolated or even dry by the end of the week and into the weekend.
