Police: Four from Florida linked to multiple car burglaries in Bryan
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Four people from Florida are spending more time in the Brazos Valley than they likely hoped for thanks to quick work by local law enforcement.
The two men and two women were arrested earlier this month and remain in the Brazos County Detention Center this week.
According to police reports, Richardo Lagueere, Shanta’nice McMillan, Cache Reid, and James Ward all participated in the break-ins of multiple vehicles on the afternoon and evening of Friday, June 7.
Several vehicles belonging to employees were targeted outside a preschool in the 2500 block of E. Villa Maria Road. Several vehicles belonging to parents were also targeted in the parking lot of another childcare facility in the 3700 block of Copperfield Parkway.
Bryan police say credit cards stolen from those vehicles were tracked down to a business on Briarcrest where two of them were caught on camera purchasing a gift card, chops, and a drink. Another suspect was seen on camera using a stolen card to fill up their getaway car at a gas station in the same area.
The group was stopped by a Brazos County deputy after one of the suspects was seen tossing a purse into a dumpster behind a hotel and then stopping at a park to change the rear license plate on the car.
As police were conducting their investigation, they learned the car being used was rented from the Houston area and a handicap placard in their possession was also stolen. According to the police report, the four are also suspected of breaking into a vehicle on E. William Joel Bryan Parkway and they may also be linked to several theft cases in Washington County.
All four are listed as residents of the Miami, Florida area and all remain in jail facing multiple charges including vehicle burglaries and engaging in organized criminal activity.
