Men Making Moves 3rd annual Backpack Drive
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Summer is here but preparations for the 2024-2025 school year have already begun.
Earnest Jefferson and Rena Menard from the Men Making Moves Scholarship Foundation joined First News at Four to discuss their 3rd Annual Back to School Backpack Drive.
Jefferson said they need multiple donations for the Backpack Drive.
“We do the toothpaste, brush, soap, lotion, deodorant, body wash and school supply kits as well. It’s in the backpacks,” he said.
Menard said the main importance of this Backpack Drive is helping the students in our community.
“The community is important. Notification is even more important because we get to be a part of bringing the community and the needs of the community all together. Along with good vendors and businesses, we get to have a front seat for helping. It’s not a financial gain. It’s all about making our communities, enhancing our communities and giving these kids and families a hand up, not a handout,” she said.
This event is at Navasota High School’s parking lot on August 10th at 9 a.m.
