$750,000 raised for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, winner of home giveaway to be announced Monday

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – All 7,500 tickets sold out for the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway thanks to the generosity of the Brazos Valley.

While the winner was not able to be announced Thursday, your contribution will go toward the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to support treatment and research in the hopes of ending childhood cancer.

“It is with great honor and great pleasure on behalf of Ranger Home Builders and everybody in the Brazos Valley that we present this check to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for $750,000,” announced Jimmy Pitman with Ranger Home Builders.

The money will go directly to families in need, to support the research at St. Jude, and help save the lives of children battling cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

Diana was a patient at St. Jude, diagnosed with leukemia, and she says she is here now thanks to support from those who contribute to the mission.

“I am so blessed to be here,” Diana said. “I was given less than a month to live. That was 10 years ago next week. None of that would be possible without St. Jude.”

Ranger Home Builders is just one of the many businesses and organizations involved in making this contribution to St. Jude possible.

“We had no idea that this could go to that level,” Pitman said. “It just shows that our community is so strong and they’re giving and their excitement to support organizations like St. Jude.”

Pitman thanked the Brazos Valley and said he is looking forward to the next steps.

“We’re so excited,” he said. “We can’t wait to see who wins the house. It’s going to be such a special moment to see that and have that experience, for that person to be able to enjoy and do whatever they would like with this home that so many hands have come together to create to support the children of St. Jude.”
