Carry the Load National Relay walk comes through Bryan-College Station

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – A Dallas-based nonprofit is honoring the nation’s fallen heroes, with a month-long tribute. A relay walk, which has spanned across the country, went through the Brazos Valley Thursday.

Carry the Load started as a mission to restore the true meaning of Memorial Day. The began with a Memorial March in Dallas, but the route now spans across 48 states, with over 75,000 participants.

Today the relay went through Bryan-College Station. They started at Tractor Supply on Texas Avenue. The group then walked to Bryan Fire Station 2 on Lawrence Street and onto Bryan Fire Station 1 on William Joel Bryan Parkway. The walk through the twin cities was about 7.5 miles in total.

Waco is the next stop. The culmination of the National Relay is a two-day Memorial Day weekend event in Dallas.
