Grimes County deputies find man breaking into storage units

ANDERSON, Texas (KBTX) – The following news release was shared Thursday by the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office:

On May 23, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., deputies were dispatched to 8279 State Highway 90 N, Roans Prairie, Texas for a burglary in progress.

Deputies arrived as the male suspect, identified as Jacob Andrew Gaiser, out of Willis, Texas, was getting into his pickup truck to leave. Our investigation showed several storage units having their lock sawed off and several items of property being taken. Several items were returned but there is still property that has not been identified.

The attached trailer was stolen from Tractor Supply in Huntsville. It still had a price tag on it.

Gaiser was also in possession of methamphetamine. Gaiser was arrested and charged with two counts of Burglary of Building a State Jail Felony and Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 <=4G>200G, a Second-Degree Felony. This individual may be linked to other storage unit burglaries in surrounding counties.
