BCS Library System kicks off summer reading program
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Kids are officially out of school for summer and the Bryan + College Station Public Library System is kicking off its summer reading program.
The theme this year is “Adventure Begins at Your Library” and they have plenty of action-packed programs for all ages.
The Summer Reading Program starts June 1 and ends July 31. To be eligible for a prize drawing, you have to have read for at least 30 days during the months of June and July.
Comedic Adventures with Bonzo Crunch, Mini Golf at Mounce, Juneteenth Celebration, Chemistry Roadshow, Art Contest, Writing Contest, Learning Zoo and more continue the adventure. Check out their calendar for all upcoming events.
The Clara B. Mounce Public Library in Bryan and Larry J. Ringer Library in College Station will host kickoff parties on Saturday, June 1.
Mounce Library will have come and go activities for all ages. Snacks, children’s crafts, photo booth area for pictures, live ukulele music from the Mounce Library Ukulele Club, and an Adult Activity Table featuring guessing games will be part of the festivities. It’s happening from 1 to 3 p.m. at 201 E. 26th St. in Bryan.
Ringer Library will have come-and-go activities for all ages. There will be a Reading Challenge registration table, children’s games and crafts, and an Adult Activity Table featuring a Guess How Many Game. It’s from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 1818 Harvey Mitchell Pkwy. S. in College Station.
