Bryan man indicted on on charges of possessing child pornography

BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) – A Brazos County Grand Jury handed down an indictment to a Bryan man charged with multiple counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

Joel Garcia Jr., 47, was arrested by Bryan Police in January after warrants were issued by the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office.

Constable Ryan Gable says Garcia was associated with the distribution of more than 22,000 images of child pornography into The Woodlands area.

On Wednesday, Jan. 3, Constable Gabel’s office executed a search warrant at Garcia’s home in Bryan and secured several electronic devices that reportedly contained material sexually depicting infants and toddlers. He was taken into custody days later.

Jail records show Garcia was released on Jan. 11, but was arrested again March 19 after a forfeiture of his bond.

He is currently in custody on bonds totaling $450,000.
