Troopers investigate fatal Washington County crash
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) – Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash on Farm-to-Market 50 and Devault Lane.
Officials say the preliminary crash investigation indicates on May 16, at approximately 6:24 p.m., a 2023 Ford Expedition was traveling northbound. A 2009 Nissan Altima, traveling southbound, went into the northbound lanes and struck the Ford head-on.
The driver of the Nissan, Patricia Tidwell, 73, of Round Top, was pronounced deceased on the scene by Washington County Justice of the Peace Douglas Cone.
The driver of the Ford was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in College Station with suspected minor injuries.
