Troopers share new information about fatal weekend crash on Highway 6
ROBERSTON COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) – – Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash on state Highway 6 and Sadberry Road.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at approximately 9:24 a.m., a 2021 GMC Sierra towing a trailer was traveling northbound. A 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe attempted to turn southbound, failed to yield the right of way – private drive, and was struck by the GMC.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Johnnie Payton, 84, of College Station, was pronounced deceased on the scene by Robertson County Justice of the Peace Ramona Aguirre.
The driver and passenger of the GMC were treated and released on the scene.
