Texas A&M System Regents approve $80 million Olsen Field renovations as part of 5-year capital plan
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) -The Texas A&M Board of Regents has approved a $7.3 billion operating budget for the 2025 fiscal year plus a $5.1 billion capital plan for the next five years.
The capital plan includes projects at Texas A&M System campuses across the state. At the College Station campus, there are more than a dozen projects listed as part of the capital plan.
Some of the more expensive projects include $295 million for a Visualization, Fine and Performing Arts building, $80 million to renovate Olsen Field, $65 million for an Entrepreneurship building and $30 million for the expansion of the Satellite Utility Plant 1.
Olsen Field originally opened in 1978 and was renovated in February 2012 with a $24 million price tag. Currently, the stadium can hold around 8,000 people. The projected fiscal year start date for the renovations to Olsen Field is in 2026.
