ERCOT issues “Weather Watch” for Wednesday
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – This may come as no surprise, but with unseasonably hot weather expected across the entire state, ERCOT officials have issued a “weather watch” for grid conditions in the afternoon and evening hours.
ERCOT blames “unseasonably high temperatures, high levels of expected maintenance outages during the spring shoulder months, and the potential for lower reserves…” for the tighter than normal grid conditions.
The good news — there are no actions required, according to ERCOT officials. ERCOT stresses that energy conservation is always appreciated (and economical), especially in times of tight grid conditions. Officials stressed that conditions are expected to be “normal” but would not rule out an appeal to conserve energy.
