Bryan elementary brings field trip to school after flooding cancels trip
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The community came together to make lemonade out of lemons!
Third graders at Johnson Elementary were disappointed Thursday when their field trip to Houston’s Natural Science Museum was canceled due to severe weather and flooding.
Some quick-thinking parents who were supposed to chaperone the trip went to work making phone calls to bring natural science to the kids.
Within the hour, there were games, paint supplies, snacks and a bounce house for the students to enjoy.
The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History and HERPS Exotic Reptile and Pet Shows even showed up with bug and reptiles, turning lots of frowns upside down.
