Registration open for A&M AgriLife’s Forage Field Day

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is getting ready for its annual Dr. O.D. Butler Forage Field Day.

This program is an effort by multiple counties and is organized and hosted by the Brazos Area Hay Producers Association.

The goal is to help landowners and forage producers better manage their property and forages.

Field Day is on Friday, May 17 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Circle X Land and Cattle Company Camp Cooley Ranch in Franklin.

The day will begin with three field tours on the ranch. The first will show results from a pre-emergent herbicide trial, the second will explain and show results of a nitrogen rate trial, and the third will discuss liming materials and their differences.

For those that have a pesticide license, they will offer three CEU’s towards those licenses.

During lunch, they will award scholarships to several high school seniors that applied and were awarded the O.D. Butler Scholarship. And they will be selling raffle tickets with 100% of the proceeds go towards scholarships for seniors.

The cost is $35 and includes lunch. To register, call 979-828-4270 or click here.
