Free Music Friday: Montclair
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Montclair is an independent folk-rock band based in Austin made up of a group of friends.
Casen Hutton and Anna Connolly, two of the four members, joined First News at Four for this week’s Free Music Friday.
Hutton said the group began right here in the Brazos Valley.
“We started out on Montclair Street, south of campus,” Hutton said.
Connolly said the group began as friends who just enjoyed playing music together.
“It always just kind of boils down to the four of us just being really good friends, and having a good time, and sometimes good stuff comes out of that,” she said.
The band is looking to continue to grow musically, starting with an album they plan to record soon.
“We’re getting into the studio in early May, right now we’re in the process of fundraising an album. We’re very excited about it. At Lake Walk we’re going to be playing almost all new songs,” Hutton said.
The band will be at Eats & Beats at Lake Walk tomorrow from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and admission is free.
