Massive St. Jude flag now flying at entrance of Southern Pointe neighborhood
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – There is a new flag to greet people as they enter the Southern Pointe neighborhood in College Station.
The team from Ranger Homebuilders asked the developers if they could fly the flag to indicate where the 2024 St. Jude Dream Home is located. Open houses begin April 27.
When Southern Point was gracious enough to donate the lot for the St. Jude Dream Home, our second question was would it be possible to fly the St. Jude flag because they have this amazing flagpole at the entrance of their beautiful neighborhood,” Jimmy Pitman with Ranger Homebuilders said. “Without hesitation, they said that would be a great idea.”
The flag is 28 feet tall and 40 feet long and can be seen from a distance as people travel on State Highway 6.
“Thousands of cars every day are going to drive by and see this unique flag and think about St. Jude and what St. Jude does, and maybe further think about ways, simple ways, of getting involved in helping,” Pitman said.
One of those ways to help is to reserve a $100 ticket. All of the money from the Dream Home Giveaway goes to support the St. Jude mission of ending childhood cancer.
“It’s just a symbol of community coming together. It’s a symbol of hope and opportunity to help others,” Pitman said.
You can reserve a ticket here or by calling (800) 219-8230.
The house will be given away live on KBTX on June 6.
