Enhance hosting skills at Stella Hotel’s Afternoon Tea Party

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – If you want to take your hosting skills to the next level, a weekend event can help.

It’s the Stella Hotels 3rd Annual Afternoon Tea Party. The event will be in the hotel’s Hershel’s Bar from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and will be hosted by hospitality expert Jennifer Satterfield.

The event was a come-and-go experience in previous years. However, Saturday’s tea party will offer interactive workshops with topics including florals, tablescapes and menu planning.

“This year, we wanted it to be more of an intimate gathering where we can connect with one another and have conversations over tea and learn a few things through these three workshops,” Satterfield said.

Tricia Barksdale of Tricia Barksdale Designs will lead the floral workshop.

She’ll demonstrate how to make three different centerpieces that can fit different sized tables.

Satterfield will lead a workshop on tablescape designs. She’ll share tips on finding table linens, setting up the perfect tablescape and layering linens.

The hospitality will also share what people can incorporate on their tables like family heirlooms.

Patrick Nelson, Campfire Restaurant’s executive chef, has crafted a menu for the event that includes tea sandwiches and pastries.

Furthermore, the chef will share tips on menu planning.

“Come with your questions,” Satterfield said. “I think that’s really important. This is really meant to be a workshop that’s conversational, and you’ll have an expert standing right in front of you who can answer all of those questions that you need to have the perfect party.”

Tickets for the Afternoon Tea Party can be found here.
